Cuối cùng Sony đã chính thức cập nhật phiên bản Android 4.4 Kitkat mới nhất cho bộ ba sản phẩm của hãng là Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact và Ultra Z. Bản cập nhật này có mã built firmware (14.3.A.0.681). Những ai sử dụng các thiết bị này có thể bật Wifi và check update  để tiến hành cập nhật phần mềm cho điện thoại của mình.

Những điểm cải tiến trên tại bản cập nhật này bao gồm:
